I purchased a "new" timer part number 3953146. I received a timer labeled with part number 3953146B. The part I removed was 3953146. The "new" part is not working. I obtained a used timer also with part number 3953146 and it is working. I did also first replace the lid switch, part number 3949247. Is there any reason the part ending in B would not work? Does the B signify something different? I thought the B was just that the part was enhanced since the original manufactures' design. I was told by the seller that the B was just a production code number implying it would make no difference. I just want to know does the B make a difference or is it more likely that the part is defective.
ANSWER Hello Feeling,
The B will be for a different electrical design and will not work for one without the suffix. You should return the part if possible.
