The dryer would not turn off at the end of the cycle. I purchased and installed the part: DRYER: Whirlpool Estate Heavy Duty extra large capacity MODEL EED4100SQ0 TYPE D433-ELE-2406026-FM54 Part# 3977456. There was no change after installing. Do I need to replace the Control Part# 3977456? I am asking in advance of purchase as the part is a bit spendy. Regards, Terry
ANSWER Terry, are you sure the dryer is heating properly ? The push to start switch was a good place to start, but now you'll need to look at the timer circuits 8299780, especially across the BK(black) and BU(blue) terminals of the timer. When the timer reaches the off position on the console ALL the timer contacts should "open" and everything turn off.
