I followed the wiring diagram. Do I need to bend back #2,3,4 prongs to plug into four prong socket with only #1 prong? will not work when pluged in with 4 prongs.
ANSWER Hello John,
The instructions are in the attachment. As per them, the present wiring diagram will have to be referenced to wire this part correctly. It should be either on the back of the unit or on a sheet usually behind the kick panel.
It looks like you will need the neutral wire, (usually white), to the number 3 terminal. The loose lead on the replacement timer will go on terminal 1. The lead from the temperature control (sometimes yellow) will now attach to the number 1 terminal. The wire that leads back to the compressor (sometimes blue) goes to terminal number 4 and the lead that goes to the defrost thermostat (sometimes brown) will go to the number 2 terminal. I couldn't find the wiring diagram for your unit so you need to find the wiring diagram if the wire colors are different.
