My Kenmore Model 800 top load washer will not agitate, spin or drain. It fills with water and then has a humming noise. Any ideas?
Lid switch check ok, Could it be the timer? I removed the timer already, how do you check it? The motor capacitor check ok too.
ANSWER Hello Bob. Turn the motor coupling and see if it turns freely. If so, the timer is bad and will need to be replaced if it is sending power to both contacts of the motor and the motor is humming. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
