Can you offer me instructions on how to replace a top burner igniter? I'm having trouble getting the range top off and tracing the igniter wires. Do I need to remove all the burners, then the whole top, in order to disconnect the wire of the bad igniter? Thanks.
ANSWER Hi Doug. You need to open the door @ 30 degrees. There is a momentary stop there to allow you to lift off the door and to set it aside. You might need to open it all the way , then lock the hinge locking tabs down on the hinges to hold them in place as you will then lift the door up off the inner hinge and pull out gently on the door assembly. Then you will access and see 2-screws holding the underside of the top assy. from comming up. You will need to have already taken off all 4-burner caps, burners and lifted them off disconnecting the wires one at a time from the igniters. This will give you access to the manifold / tubings. You can just remove the individual burner off from the top then disconnect the wire from the igniter itself. I would try this first, before the door and top removal as it will save you time and money.the burner igniter # is 8053718. Thank you.
