If all burners are not working, is it necessary to buy a whole new cooktop, or am i able to just replace a wire, wires, etc.
ANSWER Joe, If the cooktop is a "gas" unit and none of the igniters spark, It could be a damaged wire, igniter switch or Spark module. If it's an electric cooktop, It could be a damaged wire, or the double breaker may have tripped. The hard part will be getting parts for the unit, if needed, without a model number, it'll be hard. If this is actually a Maytag gas cooktop, the model and serial number tag will be located on the burner box in the right hand corner or bottom area , and is visible from inside the cabinet. hope that will help. Good Luck.
