The igniter on my stove top is not working for both burners, what is the best way to determine if its the switch, the spark module, or the igniter itself? When you turn on the front left burner, the extractor fan comes on for some reason, what can be causing this? The switch for the fan/oven light is not working, what can I do to determine this issue as well?
ANSWER Hello Susan. You are going to need to perform a voltage test using a meter on all the parts and see where you are loosing voltage at. If the switches are closing when turned on, then the module is the problem. The igniters 71002179 should closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
