I just replace the ignitors (right side) for my range. I cleaned out the burners, which had a lot of rust built up. When I reassembled the sealed burner unit and re-installed it, the new ignitors did not work. There is clicking and no spark, although I can light the burners manually. What should my next course of action be?
ANSWER Minnie, A quick easy check, is to switch burner assemblys, install the left burner in the right side bay. If the igniters work and the burner ignites, then the issue is in the right bay burner assembly, if the burner still doesn't spark or ignite then the issue is in the range (spark module or igniter switches). You most likely have a loose connection in the wiring to the burner igniters, and will need to dismantle the burner assembly and check for loose broken disconnected wires and or loose screws, causing a loss of the ground circuit to the igniters.
