My washer did not agitate. I replaced the transmission and it still does not agitate. What else could be causing this problem? thanks.
ANSWER Tim, Does the washer motor run, in the agitation direction? Does the washer fill with water and drain/spin ? With the belts removed, you should be able to turn the transmission pulley in a clockwise direction, you(or a helper) should be able to see the agitator move back and forth. When you turn the transmission pulley counterclockwise, in less than one(1) revolution, you should feel the brake release and see the transmission and tub start to turn, if everything is installed and adjusted properly. If alls OK, you'll need to start looking at the timer, lid switch and motor, because mechanically evrything would be OK. Thanks
