I wasn't sure if the gasket seal (part 8181673) requires any lubrication prior to installation. It helps seal outer tub to inner tub. I know to lubricate the bearings but Whirlpool specs don't specify about this seal. Thank you
ANSWER Mike, No, you don't want to "lubricate" the tub gasket. At the most, you may want to use a few small dabs of rubber cement or sealant to hold the gasket in position while you re seat the clips and bolts that hold the tubs together.
