I have a Maytag washer model number (MAV408DAWK). I ordered and received a "Herrin/Atlantis Platform Triple Lip Seal and Bearing Kit" part number (W102191156). I disassembled the washer to replace these parts and found that the "spin hub" that I removed from the washer has threaded female bolt holes where as the new "spin hub" does not... they are smooth. Not sure if I'm missing something here or if this is the wrong part. The only number I see on the actual "spin hub" is (35-6554). When I type my model number and part number into the sales site it says that this part kit should work for my washer...Any insight would be great.
ANSWER Hello Nathan,
The manufacturer has found that not threading these holes saves them a few cents per part so, since the screws provided are self tapping, you should use a power driver to run the screws in. It is rather difficult using a ratchet.
