The gas seems to ignite every time the igniter comes on. Is it possible that the valve does not close when the sensor reaches the upper limit and tells all components to stop heating?

ANSWER Hello Jim. It is possible you have a bad gas valve W10337269. If the igniter is good, you will need to replace the valve. Hope this helps.
