turn dryer on but the only click is the motor coming on. the igniter does not light, the valve on the gas assembly does not click on from coils. nothing seems to come on except motor from drum. can i check to see if coils are bad. i have the gas assembly out of dryer. how to test coils with ohm meter.

ANSWER Bob, You can check the resistance of the gas valve coils, and it's more likely they will circuit check fine. The two terminal coil should have a resistance reading of 1000 to1300 ohms resistance. the three terminal coils should have 1300 to 1400 ohms resistance from pin one(1) to pin two(2) and 500 to 600 ohms resistance from pin one(1) to pin three(3)( going from left to right , looking at the terminals). Have you checked the radiant / flame sensor for a closed circuit, the igniter for cracks, Also check for 120 VAC across the blue and white wires on both coils of the gas valve, that will tell you if you have power to the valve, or if we have and open thermostat, timer or wiring issue.
