My problem is with the oven in my Maytag gas range. When I turn on the oven, the hot glow type ignitor gets hot and ignites the gas flame as it should. When the ignitor shuts off seconds later, the gas flame goes out. I purchased the ignitor (AP2934763) from you and that did NOT fix the problem. Would my next step be to replace the gas control valve (AP4279176) ???

ANSWER Hello Larry. If you are losing power to the igniter to soon, either the temp sensor or the control board is bad and will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
