What is the purpose in having this seperate water inlet valve, when following this is a double valve, one going to the ice maker and the other to the chilled water dispenser. Seems redundant to have this single one also or is there something in the design that I'm missing?
ANSWER Hello Wally. The purpose is the filter on the unit. The single valve goes to the filter and then from the filter to the dual so that both the ice and dispenser water is filtered on the unit.
