I tested at the gas safety valve and I am getting 124 volts AC. Is it still the valve?

ANSWER Hello Sparty. Don't unplug the wires from the valve when testing and then see what kid of reading you get. There should not be 120 volts. Only 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the as valve.
