oven will ignite on the broiler, u turn to bake and it will not ignite, u can bump and it will ignite for a few seconds

Kevin for Model Number sb160peeb5

ANSWER Kevin, Check or replace the oven bake igniter 8190012 . 95% of ignition problems on a gas oven are due to weak glow bar igniters. when the igniter is glowing it has to produce 3.2 to 3.6 VAC to the gas valve, and draw 3.2 to 3.6 amps on the ignition circuit, or the switch in the valve will not open. When you"bump" the valve, you force the switch to open, but it will close again, due to the lack of VAC and amps. Thanks and Good Luck.
