Is the valve the only cause of the water over filling the ice mold and running out the door?
ANSWER Hello Joe,
Low water pressure can cause this since the water valve is closed by water pressure. There is no spring or anything to assist the water valves' closure. If there is low water pressure, the valve takes longer to close which will result in the ice mold overfilling.
There are also electrical contacts in the control module that can stick. In this case, the only fix is to replace the motor module or the complete ice maker assembly.
