Hi, we are having a problem with the washer. It was running fine until the other day for a few loads it was making odd noises and I just brushed it off the other day I put a load in and went to check on it and it filled all the way up and stopped. Opened the lid and it was smokey and smelled. We took the front off and it seems like the pump isn't working correctly when it spins it feels like its grinding. I'm pretty sure we have to replace the pump but when we took the front off and ran the washer I noticed that The motor moves is that normal? Almost like when the machine is on it pulls closer towards the bin. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help in advance!
Yes the motor is supposed to move when switching direction. If the pulley on the pump is not turning then you will want to replace the pump and may want to replace the belt as well.
