My maytag washing machine is not draining. I determined the belt is very loose, but the question I have is does the pump suppose to spin free and easy without belt or does it have a resistance feel like a small motor with strong magnets?

ANSWER Hello Troy. The pump should turn easy by hand and not be tight. If the pump is tight, you will need to replace the pump 6-2022030 on the unit. Hope this helps.
