Hi, I have an old washing machine and the belt finally broke. I am in the process of replacing the belt. I have taken all three star screws out from the pump but the pump still will not come out, so I could slide the new belt around the pulley. Is there any other thing I need to take out for the pump to come apart? Please help.
ANSWER Hi Joe. The best thing to do is to use a black felt marker to mark the pump as it is still in place with the motor turned upside down. The motor shaft will rust so bad as you will literally need to pry (even bust), the plastic pump off the shaft. You will be gratefull to yourself by cleaning the motor shaft off and then using some grease on the shaft for future replacements. The pump is part # 27001233. Thank you.
