Our ice maker suddenly stopped making ice. Water was leaking from the outside connection where the water line enters the freezer. Turns out the water shoot was completely clogged with a plug of ice. I got the ice plug out of the shoot & the ice maker worked fine for 1/2 day. The shoot is clogged again with a new plug of ice. Could the water valve be oozing water into the shoot so that ice build up occurs until the line is completely clogged?
ANSWER Hello Mike,
Yes, it does sound as though you have a seeping water valve that would need to be replaced. The valve is not fully seating allowing a little water to pass through and cause the fill tube freezing issue.
