For Whirlpool Water Inlet Valve (Part Number: AP3094541)

My washer drips from what I think is the vacuum break (flat, white plastic plate near the rear of the top of the tub). It's a slow drip but enough to fill the tub with a couple of inches after a day. I suspect the inlet valve (285805) might be the part that's failing. If this is the likely part, is it a good practice to replace the vacuum break inlet hose (3357328) too? If I'm wrong about the inlet valve being the culprit, what other parts should I look at? I haven't had a chance to take the washer apart yet to take a look inside. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks...

ANSWER Hello John. The vaccum break should be fine if it is not broken. You just need to replace the inlet valve on the unit.
