Don't have the model number for the stack w/d. When water is filling, there is a loud squeal noise that goes away when I turn the cold water supply valve to allow less water through.
What might be the problem?

ANSWER Sparky,
You will want to pull the hoses off the water valve and check to see if the water valve is clogged with debris in the screen. If so clean and reinstall hoses to test.
