ANSWER Lonnie,
You will want to turn the water off to unit and check the water valve screens where the hoses connect to make sure that they are not clogged. If they are clogged it will cause a pounding noise when filling. Low water pressure is the usual cause for this problem. If the screens are not clogged then you would want to replace the water valve 285805.
