Hi, my icemaker stopped dispensing ice. I replaced the icemaker (D7824706Q) because the unit was not going through the normal cycles. Still no ice, but the new unit was cycling through. No water was filling the ice mold. I also replace the water filter. Still no water to the icemaker. I do get water at the dispenser on the freezer door. Thus it seems that water is getting to the filter and to the dispenser, but not to the icemaker.
Would you recommend replacing only the water inlet valve (61005626)? Or would you recommend also replacing the water valve (12001892)?
ANSWER Dan, Yes that can occur. It is usually due to a faulty fill valve 61005626 The green solenoid is the ice maker side on the valve, you can disconnect the wires and check for a resistance reading with an multimeter, and voltage on the wires when the ice maker enters the fill segment of the cycle.
