I Need to replace plastic line that goes from the water inlet valve up the back of refrigerator to the water filter. Will the old line pull out or is there a tool that I need to disconnect it from the valve & filter? Thanks!
ANSWER Hello Steve,
The filter housing has to be removed from the top inside of the fresh food compartment to remove and replace the water line. The fittings are called john guess fittings. To remove the water line, push it in harder and while applying the pressure, hold the ring around the line towards the valve and the line will release from the fitting. To reinstall, push the line in the fitting and the line will stop. At this point you need to push harder and it will "pop" in about another 1/4 inch. To seal the fitting, pull on the line.
