My 12 year old machine made by Whirlpool had never had any trouble until recently. I was able to use the repair video here and see the original coupler was broken. Installed a new coupler, the machine ran 1 load OK but on the 2nd load did not complete / spin stopped. Found the coupler broken again, same as before the side cracked opposite the motor. What additional problems will put the force on this side to break the coupler over again. For my model number, is there a common wearout of parts for a machine about 13 years old, which I should expect to repair now.
ANSWER Scott, Based on the post infomation, You'll need to look for a locked up brake 285438, or an issue in the gearcase 3360629, did you notice any "clunking" or "growling" noises prior to the repair ? This could indicate an issue in the gear alignment inside the transmission gears, etc.
