I was drying a down ski jacket. The tag in the jacket said to dry with tennis balls or a clean sneaker. The sneaker got wedged in the dryer and the dryer stopped. The light inside goes on but the dryer won't run. Do you think the drum belt tore or I blew a thermal fuse? The repair videos are fabulous! I replaced a heating element last year myself! Before I attempt to dismantle, I wanted the advise from an expert of the probable issue. Thank You!

ANSWER Hello Cindy. You will need to check and see if it broke the belt. This is a visual check. If not, then test the thermal fuse and see if it is bad on the unit. It should read closed for continuity. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
