My 16 year old dryer stopped heating. Using a meter I found the thermal cut off switch was bad. However, given the age of the dryer, should I just go ahead and get the thermal shut down kit and replace both temperature shut down switches, and replace the dryer heater? The heater ohms were 9.9 to 10.
ANSWER Hello Brian. There is no need if there is no damage to the heater 279838. Make sure the vent is not kinked or clogged causing the issue with the unit.
