My dryer model # LER5636LQO whirlppol gets hot for the first few minutes then quits getting hot. It takes several cycles for the clothes to dry. I have cleaned the vent system and it still does this. Would the problem be the heating element?
ANSWER Hello William R. No, you need to check the vent and make sure it is clear. If so, wither the hi limit or the cycling thermostat will need to be replaced on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
