The ice dispenser will dispense ice on my floor all by itself. Then I have a hard time stopping it. Pushing the buttons does not work. Opening the freezer door for a few minutes is the only way. The fountain kit, control board, relay switch and wiring has all been replaced. I don't know what parts are malfunctioning now. The ice maker has also been replaced.
I wonder if one of the parts I have replaced is defective. The only original part is the ICE BIN. That is still crushing when "cube" is pressed. Are these two different problems?
ANSWER Hello Josie,
What happens on most of these is simple when you think about it. When ice is dispensed into a drink, the drink splatters up into the control area. When the microswitch 61005520 is contaminated, it will actuate the dispenser without activating the switch. If you replace the switch, it will correct the issue until the drink splatter is reintroduced to the switch. The manfacturers' fix for this issue is not to dispense ice into a drink. Dispense the ice into an empty glass then pour the ice into the drink over the sink or dispense the ice into the glass before pouring the drink into the glass.
