Dishwasher is making gear turning noise, water is coming in and draining but no spray. From earlier reply sounds like the impeller is bad. If the water is coming in and out does this mean the moter is still good? How do I check this to see if it is the impeller that needs to be replaced, or the whole motor? How do I get the dishwasher to run with door open?
We do not recommend trying to run the dishwasher with the door open. To access the circulation motor you will need to pull the unit from installation and rolling it on its back. You will then remove the screws holding the base pan in place and allow the base pan to partially open. You will then be able to access the circulation pump. Check the impeller for damage and for something being caught in it.
The dishwasher I have I can hear a pump working but the machine is not running and water seems like it is just trickling out like it has no pressure inside to even spin the washing arms I have a new braded water supply line installed on it so I know there are no kinks.
You will want to check to make sure that there is no water in the in the base of the unit which would cause the units drain pump to continue to run due to a flood sense. This would cause the unit to not run except the pump and would cause water to not enter the unit. If there is water in the base you will need to determine the source of the leak.
