My Bosch dryer is less than 2 years old and does not get hot. I was told it needs a new mother board. Is it worth it to fix or replace? If I order the part is it easy to install?
Answer Hello Ted,
You should check your thermal fuses and thermostat. Just because the unit does not heat doesn't always mean that control board has failed. Check the heater to make sure that it has not failed. You check these things by checking them for continuity. Also check your venting from the blower wheel to the outside of home because if this is clogged it could have caused one of the thermal fuses to fail. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html
My Dryer is Dead. Is there a fuse inside the appliance?
Answer Hello Ed,
The thermistor on this unit is also know as a temperature limiter 00422177. It is located on the duct assembly. You may also want to check your venting to ensure that you don't have a clogged blower wheel or venting to outside.
