Answer Hello Barb. Test for 3.2-3.6 volts AC at the gas safety valve with the igniter turned on. If the voltage is there, you have a bad safety valve. If the voltage is low, you have a weak igniter and the igniter will need to be replaced. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Answer Hello Richard, While you can test the solenoid, this doesn't test if the solenoid is opening the valve. If the burners that are connected to the solenoid are the ones that are inoperative, the solenoid 411253 is usually the problem. The simmer control will not control the gas, but is a control for the ignition and re-ignition of the burners.

Answer Hello Bill, The only thing I can think of is to verify ground to the spark module/simmer control. Also make sure it is connected to the correct terminal. The polarity on the receptacle has to be correct also, (very important for proper operation).

Answer Hello Bill, You may want to check the solenoid valves since there is no gas or spark to make sure that they are good. Since you are you are getting spark from the control unit to the burners.
