I have a 40+ year old Thermador wall oven that needs a new bake element. The old bake element was secured to the wires at both points using a small screw instead of the more modern sheath-style connectors. Is there a way to adapt a new element to fit the old oven?
Answer Hello Ed,
If you could get the model number, the bake element is possibly still available. The model number would still be necessary to get the original part number because this is the only way I can think of to match the wattage of the old and the available elements. Without matching the wattages, the bake temperatures wouldn't correlate with the control settings.
The heating element on the bottom of the oven is broken. If I order the new part how do I install it?
Answer Hello David. You will need to disconnect the power to the unit. Then, remove the screws securing the element 00367646 and pull the element forward. Remove the wires going to the element, and install in reverse order with the new element. Hope this helps.
