My dishwasher will not fill with water. If I fill it with the Sink it runs fine until the water is gone. I replaced the inlet valve.

Woke up to hear the dishwasher making a draining noise, it had been running all night. It would still make this noise with the door open. After a few days, I tried it again, and the dishwasher ran fine and was able to do a load. But upon trying another load, again it was just making a draining noise. We pulled the dishwasher out, and opened it up. There was some water in the tray below. What we have found is on the tray below there is a styrofoam disk that has three holes in it. Possibly the float I keep reading about. In the center hole is a gray plastic piece that a long red rod sits on that I am thinking is the float shaft. This red rod does not move up automatically to start the washing process. Water starts moving through a plastic tank. There is a hole at the front right corner of the tank and water is coming out through the hole and draining into the pan below. If we manually move the red rod in the up position and hold it, for just a few seconds, the water does not drain out of the hole and the dishwasher begins to run properly and runs through the entire cleaning process fine on it's own. What is going on, or what is needed to make this red rod engage the control on it's own?

Hello KJ. You will need to check and see if there is water in the bottom tray under the dishwasher. If so, there is a leak under there, that is causing the pump to kick on to prevent flooding of the house. You will need to dry the bottom out and run the dishwasher and look for leaks. Once you find where the dishwasher is leaking from, we will be glad to look the part up for you. Hope this helps. Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com How do I get to the bottom tray? I have slid it out and taken off the toe kick plate. I also cleaned out the drain, took out the piece that covers the sump pump, took needle nose pliers to take out the blace rubber thing and cleaned that too. The blue paddle turns freely. The drain still runs, even with the door open. I believe it is the float that is engaged, but do not know how to proceed with caution. Thank you!

When the cycle is finished there is no water in the bottom of the dish washer. After some time there will be clean water in the bottom pan of the machine. If I turn off the water supply when the load is finished no water accumulates in the washer. What part or parts do I need to replace.

Again, how many possibilities are there? You've recommended a flex hose with o-rings. That's good. But aren't there others you can think of which I should probably order at the same time?
