Answer Bob, In modern day machinery, you can allow a 10% difference in wattage, voltage, and resistance, and still be "in range" of factory specifications,unless otherwise noted. Using distilled white vinegar or a citric acid based dishwasher cleaner "Affresh" W10282479 should help to diffuse any odors left in the unit from storage and clear any deposits left in the heater assembly and mechanical parts in the pump.Just remember to allow the solution to soak in the tub 20 to 30 minutes, before you resume the cycle.

Answer Hello Richard, The heating circuit has an issue. You can test it by removing the front panel to access the control. The two large wires (usually a red and a grey wire) sharing a connector go to the heating element. If you test it and you read a resistance of between 15 to 35 ohms, the heating circuit is good and the control will require replacement. If you read an open circuit, (reading like the test leads aren't touching anything), the heating element will require replacement unless you find a wire off or burned.

Answer Hello Brandon. Yes, if the heater assembly 264462 is bad, it will need to be replaced. If you replace it, and the unit does not heat, and the wiring harness is good, you will need to replace the control panel. Hope this helps.
