Hi - My dryer does not heat and yet my heater element has a resistance of about 10 Ohms. Is this a normal resistance, and if so what else could be the problem?

I was cleaning the lint filter box on my dryer and when I started it after cleaning there was lint fire in the heating element box. I put it out with a powder extinguisher. Clean the entire dryer this time inside. Can I still use dryer? Should I still use dryer? Was going to replace heating element just to be cautious.

I purchased part number AP3767226 in anticipation that I may have a faulty coil (symtoms indicated this possibility). When I got inside the Bosch Dryer, I found the "thermal fuse" on the side of the heating element chamber to be tripped/open. I checked the heating element, this thermal fuse/breaker/ and the small ntc sensor for continuity and all were in tact (after re-setting the thermal fuse). Questions: What casues this "fuse" to overload/pop-out and what should be checked prior to re-installing? Should this fuse be re-used? Is it sold separetly? There is one on the side of the heating element unit I ordered. Thanks, Tony
