The springs on my oven have lost their tension and the doors will not completely close. I understand that there is now a door hinge with a stronger hinge available. One of the on line suppliers recommended the new hinge with a stronger spring that is Thermador #414511. Is that the correct stronger spring hinge that I need?

Answer Hello Bruce,
The "stronger" spring 414511 is the one listed for the stainless door. The stainless door is normally heavier that the enameled doors so they take a stronger spring to support the additional weight of the heavier material. Of course if the problem still exists after the hinge replacement, the issue could be either the hinge receptacle 414510 or the door liner 470538. You can check the door liner by opening the door and laying a yard stick on the door liner from top to bottom. It should lay flat. If it rocks, the door liner is where you are getting the slack.
What's the diffence between the AP2831942 and AP3196146? seem the same dimensions.
Thanks

Answer Hello Rolan. The difference is the design of the hinge and the pressure. Based on the model number you provided, 487746 is the correct hinge. Hope this helps.
