Most Interesting

I have a Thermador H30HQS range hood with an external VTR1000Q-04 external blower. The blower was not working so I took off the housing and noticed that the blower was turning backwards (i.e counter-clockwise instead of clockwise) so the squirrel cage fan was not “biting” into the air. In an internet search, i found a few cases of a bad capacitor causing a motor to run backwards (this is a permanent split capacitor motor). I bought a replacement capacitor from you but that did not solve the problem. So if the capacitor is OK and the motor is getting power, then I reasoned that the only remaining conclusion must be a bad motor. I ordered a replacement motor from you, but the new motor doesn’t turn at all— it just hums like it doesn’t have enough starting torque. I’m kind of at a loss and hoping that you may have some idea of what is going on. Here’s some more detailed information about the old motor from the various tests that I did. the old motor seemed to respond to the speed control switch—it would slow down in the wrong direction. I wired the power to the motor as black-to-black and white-to-white. Reversing this didn’t change anything as I suspected since it is AC after all. If I wired power to one of the lower speed taps (blue or red) the motor wouldn’t turn at all. I also notice that the new motor has an rotation arrow (clockwise) printed on the plate as if this motor is designed to turn in only one direction. That would be consistent with the motor not turning at all when my installation is somehow trying to turn it in the wrong direction. Anyway, I’m at a loss and after spending about $360 on replacement parts, I’m hoping that you have some suggestions. thanks very much, Bill

What are the dimensions of this? Width, depth of the rack (how large a dish will it hold)?
