I recently replaced the impeller assembly on the circulation pump and everything appeared to be working much better with regards to the spray arms. However, even though a lot of water is coming from the upper spray arm, it's not moving. Any ideas on what could be the issue and how to troubleshoot? Thanks.

Answer Hello Jim,
I would check for any point of water pressure loss. This is pertaining to the internal water circulation system. The first thing I would look at closely are the spray arms. If they are separating at the seams, this will allow the water pressure to blow out there and not have enough pressure left to power the upper spray arm. This is the most common cause of pressure loss. Another point to check is the grommet (or gasket) at the back of the upper rack where the center spray arm taps off pressure. This gasket is common to deteriorate without being noticed because of it's mostly hidden location.
If these check out good, it is possible that the impeller is slipping on the motor shaft or an item that had been in there could have worn down the impellers. I have actually seen where a piece of sharp glass wore the impeller blade impellers completely off. Let us know if we can further assist you!
