Hello, I am thinking about purchasing a Decor Oven that has an issue where-" the oven does not heat above 350 degrees. The touch pad stops at that temperature" is what was said. I have been trying to do some research and it seems to me that it must be the membrane where that would be your 62310. Could it be another part possibly. When I do a search specific under my model all I get is the ERD48 parts list, does this mean that the parts are interchangeable?
Thanks for any incite to this issue.
Answer Hello Michael,
You will need to check the temperature sensor 62593 for about 1100 ohms at about 70°F. This is the most common cause of the complaint listed. If it passes the test, check the harness from it to the control board. If no problems are found there, kill the power to the unit and verify the power to it is off. Pull the bake element out and unplug one wire from it. Lay the wire in a position where it cannot touch anything. Turn the power back on and test for 120Vac on the open bake element terminal and on the loose wire. There should be 120Vac on both of these. If not, trace the one with no power on it. The problem will be in that circuit. It could be a high limit cutout or an open thermostat. If it leads back to the control board, there may be a burned set of contacts in a relay on the board. This would require you to replace the board.
How do you remove the control panel in order to replace the membrane? Thanks.
To remove the control to replace the membrane switch you will need to do the following:
1. Remove top frame
2. Remove control panel cover
3. Disconnect wire harnesses and membrane harness
4. Remove 4 nuts on each corner of ERC - pull off ERC
5. Replace ERC - making sure new ERC is centered on studs when placing
