While installing a light bulb, I heard a pop and now the oven beeps but everything still works except the light of course. Any ideas?
Answer Hello Kurt,
This sounds like you may have replaced the bulb with power to the bulb turned on. This can shoot the bulb and/or the power supply for the bulb. Pull the tech sheet for the unit and test for voltage to the bulb. If voltage is present, turn the switch off and change the bulb again. If no voltage is present, try turning the switch on and re-testing. If still no power to the bulb, check for a fuse to the power supply board and voltage to the power supply board.
Less than a month ago, our oven stopped working out of the blue. It turned on and the display worked but it wouldn't heat up. Called repair guy and after checking everything, he replaced the relay board (92028) and showed me the burned out spot. 2 days ago I used it, 350 degrees for a few hours. My husband said he smelled plastic, same as when it stopped working last time. Tried to use it tonight and it won't heat up again. What the heck?! Did I get a bad relay board? Could it be an electrical issue? We've had this oven for 6 years and never had a problem. Thanks.
Answer Hello Elena,
If the same issue has occurred, and I would definitely check first, The issue is normally caused by excessive current flow. I would check in the junction box where the wires are normally wire-nutted together. Many times when a repeat issue occurs, there will be a loose connection. If no problem exists, I would consider replacing the breaker since they are inexpensive to replace, (hold on to the old one in case the problem recurs and it is proven not to be the cause of the issue. If all checks good, replace the board again, (especially if it is still warranted).
