Appliance: Model HOTPOINT GAS RANGE RGB745BAH6WH
My Repair & Advice
Tested the igniter with digital meter as shown on the video. Ordered recommended igniter
from ApplicancePartsPros.com. Installed and it worked. That's my story.
Here's the one my wife posted on facebook.
Two days ago I got my "official appliance repair person" certificate. With help from my husband and from him a lot of patience, I repaired my oven. The igniter died some time ago, and I asked Waldo could it be fixed. Usual answer... If that's the problem.
Finally, I said it's now or never. Let's fix the oven or buy me a new stove. Well, that put a bubble under his butt and he said he would take a look at it. Long story short, I took the oven completely apart, 'cause I had to, to test the igniter. Waldo tested and announced "Yep, that's the problem."
Fast forward two days and the new igniter arrived from ApplicancePartsPros.com. I just love those people. After much searching of tool boxes, Waldo found, of all things, a "nut driver". Let me tell you, if I never hear that term again, it will be too soon.
Three or four hours later, time flies when you're having fun. The new part is installed and all the pieces (save one) are back in place. There are a few screws left over, but I don't think they are too important 'cause nothing fell out or off.
Test time, Turn the knob to light the oven and what do you know folks...It works. So for less than $100 and half a day of our time, I have an oven that works. God is really good to me.
