Ice maker stopped working; the lights were on but the ice maker assembly kept freezing up even though no water was being dispensed to it

My Repair & Advice
Tried defrosting and resetting the old ice maker assembly several times. Researched a solution online, decided the ice maker assembly needed to be replaced, and watched a demonstration video online on how to do it. I ordered the part, received it very quickly, and replaced the ice maker assembly. The hardest part is trying to get the wire clip from the refrigerator plugged securely into the back of the ice maker assembly - the wires are very short and you have to feel it rather than see it. Although the lights in the new assembly came on, it still didn't work at first but immediately started dispensing water after I hit the reset button. Everything is working perfectly now.
