Top auger wouldn't spin

My Repair & Advice
Although I had an 80 series Kenmore, and all the videos I could find suggested that I should remove the agitator with a 7/16" nut, when I removed the top cap of the agitator, I didn't see a 7/16" metal nut, but instead saw a square plastic nut that was just like the agitator on the 90 series models! So I unscrewed the plastic nut that held a retaining spring which allowed me to lift the entire agitator off. Once I lifted it off, I was able to remove the chuck which held the dogs on with a plastic clip. Then I popped off the clip and the dogs were accessible. Replacing the dogs and putting everything back together was less than a 5 minute job. The top auger is now back to doing its job of pulling clothes from the top of the washer down to the agitator so I'm very happy with the results.
