Appliance: KitchenAid Automatic Washer KAWS750LQ2
My Repair & Advice
This was on a top load Kitchenaid washer model KAWS750LQ2 8 years old. The sound gradually worsened. I first replaced agitation dog ears and coupler between motor and gear box. Dog ears were worn but the coupler was still in okay shape. These fix's didn't take care of noise. I ran machine with outside cover off and the sound was definitely coming from transmission. I ordered the transmission from appliancepartspros.com. I watched the video on this website, to see how to remove and replace. The video helped a lot and took about a hour to complete. Washer is quieter now and operating like anew one. I was really looking into replacing the machine but found the new ones really expensive. Hopefully I will get another 8 years out of it without repairs. HA HA!
