HELPING DO-IT YOURSELFERS SINCE 1999

The crisper cover support had broken in two, probably due to the weight of four gallons of milk on the shelf.

It took just a few minutes to remove the old support and replace it with the new one. I watched the how-to video on this site, and it was a snap. First, remove all the items sitting on top of the crisper. Next, pull the crisper drawer all the way out and set it aside. Then, remove both the glass top insert on the crisper and the plastic frame that the glass sits in. Now, look at the support piece and you will see a small circle on the top center. Using a screwdriver and hammer, tap the circle until it gives way and you have a little hole. Next, I used a spackling tool, sliding it between the support piece and the refrigerator wall to pry it away. I then grabbed it with needle nose pliers and pulled it off the wall. Then, use the needle nose pliers to pull the old "plug" out of the little hole in the refrigerator wall. Next, take the new crisper cover support and put it in place using the two tiny prongs holes (below the bigger hole) as a guide. Then, take the hammer and tap the new "plug" until it's flush with the flat part of the support. Now you're ready to put the frame, glass and drawer back in place. I highly encourage you to watch the video. It just takes a minute.
