HELPING DO-IT YOURSELFERS SINCE 1999

The ice maker stopped working just before summer started!

Appliance: Model 106 5458 4400 KENMORE My Repair & Advice

I used you-tube videos to try to determine the actual problem I had. The ice maker would fill up with water so the water solenoid was not bad. The ice froze in the tray but would not release causing me to believe the heater was not working. I ordered a new ice maker from Appliance Parts Pros. I took one screw out all the way and loosen two more screws to remove the ice maker from the wall of the freezer. After unplugging the wiring harness (as shown on the video) I completely took out the old ice maker. I installed the new ice maker and then jump started it just like it shows on the video. It has worked great since.
